Landek is a forested elongated hill, located in the Silesian part of the statutory city of Ostrava in the cadastral area of ​​Koblov and Petřkovice above the confluence of the Odra and Ostravice. It is a European and world-famous locality mainly in terms of geology, archaeology, history, science and mining. Its importance is compared with more well-known hills (eg Říp, Blaník, Oreb or Tábor).
