Lime kiln plant built in 1826 near the farm of la Motte Saint-Gervais Motte, Val d'Izé.
Open quarry in the Devonian limestones delivered a superb wildlife invertebrate fossils. Calcite is present, rarely crystallized, often in massive veins.
The exploitation stopped at the end of the nineteenth century.
The site is overgrown by vegetation and quarry drowned.
Before the site disappeared under vegetation, one was able to collect some well crystallized calcite specimens. Aragonite and goethite(in red sandstones nearby limestones) have also been observed. Currently the few excavated material are impossible to search.
