Ocorrências de ouro - disseminadas e filonianas ligadas a distintas formações vulcano-sedimentares.
Ocorrências de ouro - filonianas, stockwerks e massas silicificadas em metassedimentos paleozóicos, afectados por cisalhamentos, carreamentos ou desligamentos tardios.
Génese: epigenética, hidrotermal e alteração supergénica. Em geral dá-se um enchimento filoniano inicial com quartzo branco e raros sulfuretos, um pouco de scheelite e muito pouco ouro; segue-se reactivação tectónica e nova precipitação de sulfuretos (que ocupam juntas e fissuras da ganga quartzosa); ouro e prata; movimentos cisalhantes, recristalização parcial de quartzo que fica cinzento e depósito da paragénese tardia de Zn, Pb, Sb, Cu e Ag, a que está associado o essencial do ouro. Em Vale do Seixo a origem do ouro não é só hidrotermal, tendo-se descoberto ouro livre em concentrações com interesse económico em brechas vulcânicas, que se admitiu serem brechas riolíticas, com disseminações de arsenopirite, arsenatos de Fe, óxidos de Fe e antimonatos de Pb e Bi.
Descrição geológica: filão-falha quartzoso, com direcção N 80º W, pendor 85º S e possança até 15,0 m com andamento superior a 6 km. Existem sectores tectonicamente reactivados e enriquecidos em Au e Ag que foram investigados pelo SFM em áreas das concessões nº 2376 (sanjas A, B e O), 2188 (sanja 1), 2187 (galeria 1 e desmonte 1), 2183 (sanjas 3A, 4, 4B e 5) e galerias 3 e 3A) e 2184 (sanja 10).
Geologia local: O filão-falha de Latadas rejeita o Complexo Vulcano-silicioso, a Formação Filito-quartzítica e a Formação de Quartzitos superiores.
Geologia regional: Silúrico. Ordovícico superior.
Mineralizações principais: ouro, prata.
Mineralizações secundárias: antimonatos de Pb e Bi, argentite, arsenatos de ferro, arsenopirite (mispíquel), esfalerite, galena, matildite, pirite.
Distribuições: disseminada.
Morfologias: brecha, filão.
Gangas: quartzo, riólitos.
Rochas encaixantes: quartzitos, rochas calcossilicatadas, xistos.
