Large open pit located NW Fuengirola river, roughly 20 km far away from this city, place called "Casa del Colmenar y Arroyo de los Toros". Talc masses with minor magnesite, chlorite group, serpentine and iron masses, were mined close to the contact zone between weathered and hydrothermalized lherzolites (Alpujata massif East border)and black-grey shales and phyllites. The deposit is through a fault system N20ºE trending. Talc masses were worked at open pit in several benches, currently abandoned and flooded.
Interesting magnesite crystals were found out filling open spaces and joints 2-4 cm thick in talc masses and hydrothermalized lherzolites.
