This quarry is now inactive. The area of the ramp on the west side of the quarry is now on top of an old sulphide vein that was up to 2 meters wide, dipping vertical and striking NNE. Some of it is still exposed on the west wall near the south corner of the quarry.
NOTE: all the highly modified galena crystals, with octahedral and dodecahedral modifications, came from this quarry. Many photos of such galena in the North quarry folder are in the wrong folder and belong here. (Reiner Mielke 2014)
