Pegmatite veins hosted in acid and basic granulites of the Kinzingite Serie ("Ivrea-Verbano Complex")
Several veins and boulders provided collectible samples. Others are apparently barren. There are at least four veins which are known to many collectors, but some others, less known, may exist.
Access to sites is not easy and no outlined paths exists (just goat tracks)
Most, but not all, of the veins are hosted in "acid granulites" (Stronalites) and, as a consequence, have a typical paragenesis of accessory minerals: Sillimanite, Garnet, (Dumortierite), Biotite, (Tourmaline), Rutile-Ilmenite, (Apatite), Monazite-(Ce), (Allanite), Zircon.
Provided coordinates are based on knowledge of the collecting area tied to satellite imagery but need to be considered approximate and a sort of barycentre with known dykes dispersed around in a radius of some hundreds of meters.
