Snösjön
Limestone quarry near Snösjön.
Snösjön ("Snow Lake") is a lake in Smedjebacken municipality in Dalarna and is part of Norrström's main catchment area. The lake has an area of 1.99 square kilometers and is 176.2 meters above sea level. The lake is drained by the watercourse Haggeån (Snöån).
Snösjön is part of the sub-catchment area (665832-146675) which SMHI calls the outlet of Snösjön. The average altitude is 238 meters above sea level and the area is 18.3 square kilometers. If the 7 catchment areas upstream are included, the accumulated area is 99.32 square kilometers. Haggeån (Snöån), which drains the catchment area, has tributary order 4, which means that the water flows through a total of 4 watercourses before reaching the sea after 259 kilometers. The catchment area consists mostly of forest (83 percent). The catchment area has 2.22 square kilometers of water surface, which gives it a lake percentage of 12.1 percent.
