This meteorite was found in 1930, almost completely buried in newly cleared land, on Holland and Breakill's wheat farm (Block 2557), 15 kilometres north-west of Bencubbin.

It is pyramid-shaped, 30cm x 20cm at its base, 18cm x 13cm at the top, 23cm deep, 54kg and a specific gravity of 5.32.

The surface was covered completely by an oxidised layer, which also penetrated the meteorite along the surfaces of metallic masses. Under the layer, its colour is greyish to brownish black, with regular enstatite, coloured greyish white as single crystals 5-10mm in diameter and often multiply twinned. There was also dark olive coloured olivine crystals the same size as the enstatite.

Mineral composition is nickel iron 47.8%, troilite 1.6%, enstatite 23.1%, olivine 20.2%, anorthite 1% and chromite 0.2%.

The meteorite has been classified as a stony-iron or mesosiderite,but eventually became a Carbonaceous Chondrite Prototype (CBa) largely because of its silicate composition and its very unusual oxygen isotope ratios.
