Mizarela is a small village very close to the "Frecha da Mizarela".

The Frecha da Mizarela Waterfall is a waterfall located in the Serra da Freita, near the village of Albergaria da Serra.

This waterfall is situated on the granite rock of the Serra da Freita plateau, at an altitude of around 910 meters. It is fed by the waters of the Caima River and has a height of approximately 75 meters, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in Portugal.

As granite is more resistant to river erosion from the Caima River than most schists and graywackes, a significant difference in elevation formed over time, giving rise to the waterfall. However, besides differential erosion, it is also considered that the orientation of fault systems affecting the entire Serra da Freita block had a direct influence on the formation of this unique escarpment.

This area is an integral part of the Arouca Geopark.
