An airborne radiometric anomaly led to the discovery of this complex in 1967. It is similar to the Oka carbonatite situated approx. 18 km to the east. It is oval in shape, 3 km by 2.5 km in size, and is believed to be genetically related to the Monteregian Alkaline Province, which would make this the westernmost member in the Monteregian series. All of the complex is covered by glacial tills. The complex was partially explored by drilling for economic evaluation but its geology and mineralogy is not well known.
