Ancient (13th century) Pb-Ag mine with one still accessible adit, located about 200 m south-east of Bernina Pass. Swiss coordinates: 799'300 / 143'400.
An unsuccesfull attempt to newly exploit the galena vein was made around 1850 (Godenzi, 1958).

The Pb-Ag mineralisation is included in quartz-calcite veins embedded in light sericite gneiss (Theobald, 1866). The ore consists of galena with associated sphalerite, pyrite and arsenopyrite (Bodmer & Aegerter, 1982 and 1983). A content in Ag of 144 ppm has been determined in "tout venant".
Small cerussite crystals are sometimes found in galena cavities (Bedognè et al., 2006).
