A band of serpentinite runs along Razorback Ridge, and a small outcrop was once mined, possibly nephrite quality, via an aerial cableway off the steep cliffs near Mount Griffin. Minor relics like winches, cableway ropes etc remain.
The track to the mine is faint, rough, with steep terrain. The Griffin Creek hut is half way up the 14 kilometre return track.
