Harichand Ophiolitic Complex
The Dargai Complex represents a segment of a Cretaceous (ca. 110–90 Ma) ophiolite that has been emplaced along a south-directed thrust fault within the Indus Suture Zone. Lithologically, the complex consists of an approximately 30 km east–west elongated ultramafic sequence, that was obducted on relatively older (Precambrian to Triassic) pelitic and calcareous rock sequences. The complex is primarily composed of dunites, harzburgites, minor bodies of wehrlite, chromitites, and pyroxenites, altogether demonstrating a mantle-crust transition zone.
