A Potash Mine started in 1902 and closed in 1991.
Nowadays used as an "Entsorgungsbergwerk", a Mine used for the underground storage of waste. The sett includes shafts at Sollstedt, the main mining site, and at Bernterode (Preusen Shaft), a few kilometers to the west.
