A former W-Mo mine located in sec. 25, T4S, R24E, MDM, 4.1 km (2.5 miles) S of Timber Knob, on private (patented) land within a National Forest (located claim). Discovered in 1941. First produced in 1943. Owned and operated by Teledyne Tungsten Corp., Fresno, California 93703 (99.00%) (1981). Owned by J. E. Cobb and J. A. McDougald, North Fork, California (1.00%) (1981). Permanently shutdown in mid-December, 1986. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is a replacement deposit hosted in marble. The ore body is irregular/tabular in form, strikes S25E and dips 50S at a thickness of 3.4 meters. It has a depth-to-top of 150 meters, a width of 75 meters and a length of 134 meters. Primary mode of origin was contact metasomatism and the secondary mode was metamorphism. Primary ore control was a contact zone and the secondary control was igneous activity. There is intense wall rock alteration (carbonate silicification). Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Openings include underground openings with a length of 1,388 meters and an overall depth of 75 meters. There are 2 shafts, 2 inclines with a total length od 1,220 feet. There are 5 adits with an average length of 93 meters.
Water was obtained from a 91 meter well. Power was generated on site. 5 km of access road was constructed from Granite Creek crossing to the mine in 1943.

Reserves depleted according to Teledyne upon shutdown; however, some underground reserves, rec. materials in tails still there. Teledyne gave up or did not renew the lease. Mr. Don Smith, North Fork, California represented the owners (Smith family). U.S. Bureau of Mines files state that Strawberry reserves were depleted at the time of shutdown; however, negotiations to reopen the mine, and rework and reclamation of tailings failed when the state required bonding that a new potential operator felt was prohibitive. There are no public data available on ore grades/reserves, or materials in tailings.
