The largest urban area in the Vanylven municipality. The olivine outcrops, localities and mines often labelled just "Åheim", are located in Almklovdalen and surroundings SE of the center of Åheim. About 6 km following the road from Åheim center to Sunndalen, there is a large picnic space made for touristic mineral collecting. The space locally named peridotplassen (the Peridot space) is covered by pebbles and rocks mostly from the Gusdalen open pit mine . Gem peridote, garnet peridotite and eclogite may be collected here. Info can by obtained at the Spar grocery store in the center of Åheim or at Kvilehytta, just outside the center. (See the link below)

Garmo (2013) places Åheim erronously in the Selje municipality, correct is Vanylven municipality.
