This is the very literally descriptive name given by the Canadian Museum of Nature to the site where a ~8cm glacial boulder of lapis lazuli was found by Judith Bainbridge in 1992. It's a small patch of landscaping stone outside one of the entrances to the hospital.

Other areas of the hospital were searched, and attempts were made to find the source, but neither the gravel pit where the boulder was 'mined', nor the in-situ occurrence for the lazurite was ever located, and this remains the only piece known to have been found. It was, however, determined that the yard which supplied the stone had only received shipments from Ottawa area (Ontario) pits. It is therefore rightly catalogued as an Ontario location, but the in-situ occurrence may very well be in Quebec. No comparable material is known from any Canadian location.

According to George Robinson (then curator at the National), it was the only piece of Ontario lapis known, and the single best Canadian example. A large piece (about 1/4 of the ~8cm boulder) is on display in Ottawa, and with the exception of a couple of small chips, the rest remains within the Bainbridge family.
