Mina da Herdade da Caeira, Silveiras, Montemor-o-Novo, Distrito de Évora, Portugal
Ancient Fe-Cu mine.
A system of brecciated quartz vein deposits, consisting mainly of massive sulfides, predominantly pyrite, and sub-concordant with the regional structure. These veins have NNW-SSE orientations, nearly vertical, with average widths ranging from 0.20 to 1.30 meters, located in proximity to the major Ferreira-Ficalho tectonic fault. There is a narrow band with complex mineralization of sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, and tetrahedrite.
