Fortullino is a mineral locality situated on the left side of Botro Fortulla, on the western slope of Poggio San Quirico. Various magnesite veins occur in this area of Poggio San Quirico and some of them have been mined within the limits of the Campolecciano mining concession. Fortullino is a well-known locality for melanophlogite (Grassellini Troysi & Orlandi, 1972), which occurs in a serpentinite breccia at the contact with magnesite veins.

Erroneously given as "Fortunillo" in Kanzaki (2020).

Melanophlogite typically appears as translucent or transparent globules disseminated over the matrix. If observed under an electron microscope or a light microscope at high magnification, the melanophlogite globules appear as spheroidal clusters of cubic microcrystals. Individual cubic crystals are rarely found. The origin is due to the carbonatic alteration of the original serpentinite that has brought about the formation of Mg-rich carbonatic rocks and the segregation of the siliceous phase as melanophlogite and opal.
Melanophlogite is not the only mineral present here, but also other minerals occur such as dolomite, magnesite, cinnabar, kutnohorite, opal, quartz, and volkonskoite.

Furthermore, Fortullino is the name of a little promontory located close to the mouth of Botro Fortulla. Finds of calcite are known from the seashore close to Fortullino Beach, where rocks of the Palombini limestone–shale sequence crop out.
