Insurgent Fraction Mine


A gold mine 1 mile NW of Republic. It worked a vein believed to be an offshoot off the Lone Pine Vein. Development includes adits opened on the Lone Pine property. It produced in 1908-1912, and 1927. Total production is listed as 22,000 tons at 0.75 oz/ton gold and 5.43 oz/ton silver.
Tectonics: Epithermal Deposits Of The Republic District Are Found In The Eocene Sanpoil Volcanics. (See Republic District For Additional Details.)

Deposit: Host rocks for gold deposits of the republic mining district are dacite and andesite flows, flow breccias, tuffs, and tuff breccias of the eocene sanpoil volcanics (muessig, 1967, p. 50-51; tschauder, 1989, p. 242). ; info.src : 1 pub lit

Development: ECON.COM: PRODUCED IN 1908-1912 AND 1927 (HUNTTING, 1956, P. 121).

Ore(s): The Vein Is Thought To Be An Offshoot Of The Lone Pine Vein And Cuts Propylitic Andesite. The Ore Shoot, Which Was 30 Ft. Long And 2.5 Ft. Wide, Is Now Stoped Out (Huntting, 1956, P. 121). (See Republic District For Additional Details.)
