A crushed stone (sand & gravel) quarry located in sec 9, T5S, R14W, SBM, N of and overlooking Portuguese Bend.

Local rocks include Miocene marine rocks.

Much of the quarry floor is now part of a park.

As of September 2024, the quarry area is closed from public visiting and collecting due to “Wildlife preservation and Soil Erosion.”, although you can still view the quarry by following a designated trail to the entrance.
