Ref.: New York State Museum Bulletin No. 199, Alling, Harold L. (July, 1917), The Adirondack Graphite Deposits: Fig. 1, 11, 20-21. A graphite prospect located on the Towne property in Ticonderoga Twp. at the Crown Point Twp. line. Started 1902 and closed 1903. Mineralization is biotite-hornblende schists & Grenville sedimentary series rocks. Workings included a shaft (1902), 2 openings at 6 rods apart (the East opening had a shaft to 108 feet deep) & the 2nd. pit was 12 to 15 feet square & 6 feet deep.
