A now inactive andalusite mine which once produced approximately 30,000 t/a of andalusite concentrate. The andalusite crystals reach lengths of 15 cm and are up to 3 cm wide. They are often superficially pinitized. Centimeter-sized staurolite crystals are abundant. The host rock belongs to the Lower Proterozoic Pretoria Group.
