Location: This site is located in a drainage bottom in the southeast quarter of Section 11, T. 24 N., R. 11 W., of the Seward Meridian. It is approximately two and a half miles west of TL071 at the north end of the Yenlo Hills.
Geology: Diamond Gold Corporation reports a discovery of gold-rich arsenopyrite veins that average 0.10 oz/ton gold and 2 oz/ton silver (company press release, 10/14/98). Trenching exposes the one vein in a 400-foot-long zone (width not specified). They indicate the mineralization is related to the 'Hudson Stock', a gabbro body which returned assays of anomalous nickel, chromite and platinum-group-elements (values not released). The ultramafic body, which intrudes Mesozoic marine sedimentary rocks (KJs, Reed and Nelson, 1980), produced extensive hornfels areas with stockwork quartz veinlets (C.C. Hawley, oral communication).
Workings: Trenching, rock chip sampling and mapping by Diamond Gold Corporation were conducted during 1998. They indicate the mineralization is related to the 'Hudson Stock', a gabbro body which returned assays of anomalous nickel, chromite and platinum-group-elements (values not released).
Alteration: Some clay gouge, with pyrite and quartz, is reported in a fault zone in the sedimentary rocks.
