This locality is one of a few in the United States where sulvanite occurs. It is found in a black-dark grey carbonaceous limestone in veins of calcite and quartz. It can be found in the calcite-quartz veins as complete crystals, if etched out of calcite using, for example, vinegar. Where exposed to weathering, the sulvanite has either wholly, or partially altered to tangeite, volborthite, malachite, or azurite.
An adit at the site entered the hillside in a layer of limestone where the sulvanite occurred, however that adit has been reclaimed by the state of Utah. A small dump of the black-dark grey limestone and vein material is all that is left of the prospect. There are natural outcrops where calcite-quartz veins can be found near the prospect that contain the sulvanite. There are also scattered remains of what appears to have been a small cabin. Wood fragments, and a steel bed frame are found about 100 feet away from the adit.
The prospect is very close to the border of Utah and Tooele counties, however it is located in Tooele County. Due to its proximity to the border, confusion has arisen in the past as to where it was located. The coordinates are the location of the rock dumps near the adit.
