Structure: Roberts Mountain Thrust
Deposit: Vanadium deposits in sheared, contorted, black shales. Vanadium minerals are associated with bituminous phosphatic shales.
Development: The deposit was explored by the Siskon Co. in 1960-61, open cuts were made and a number of churn drill holes were put down. The prospect is near the Gibellini manganese property.
Geology: The vanadium deposits are in highly sheared and contorted black shales interlayered with chert, calcareous shale and limestone. These rocks are Western Assemblage and in the upper plate of the Roberts Mountain thrust.
