A former U-Mo-Rh occurrence/mine with traces of Cd-Zn-Cu-Pb-Fe located in the W½ sec. 32, T39N, R6E, G&SRM, 15.7 km (9.8 miles) SW of Marble Canyon (town), in canyon about 2 miles WSW of Cliff Dwellers Lodge, on state owned land. Owned by Upetco (1958). Owned & operated by Bemco Mining, California (1958).

Mineralization is an U deposit hosted in Late Triassic sandstone of the Shinarump Conglomerate Member of the Chinle Formation. The ore body is "U" shaped (bend of paleostream channel) at the bottom 2.5 foot of the channel with some carbonized plant remains. It is 39.62 meters thick, 121.92 meters wide and 304.8 meters long. Pods are 2 feet by 3 feet. Conglomerate is underlain by Moenkopi Formation rocks. Radiation level is 20x background. Local rocks include rocks of the Moenkopi Formation.

Uraninite is associated with carbon matter and pyrite, sphalerite and galena. Secondary minerals include zippeite, betazippeite and uranyl phosphate. Molybdenum content is as high as 10%, as ilsemannite and unusually high rhenium @0.07 - 1.5%. Mineralization in a Shinarump scour channel in Moenkopi Formation. The chert-quartz pebble conglomerate is in a U-shaped bend, 1,000 feet long by 400 feet wide and contains 130 feet of Shinarump Member rocks. Best ore occurs in the basal 4 feet of the channel.

Workings include underground openings with a length of 121.92 meters (400 feet).

Production was several hundred tons (1956-1959). 286 tons of ore were mined @ 0.285% U3O8 (1955-1956).

Analysis test results: Average grade around 0.2% U3O8. Mo content as high as 10%.
