The Iowa mine was a small copper producer along the SW side of the North Fork of the Sultan River. The main workings were located just above the river, with three adits totaling 1500' in length. The lowest adit appears to have not produced much if any ore based off of the lack of stopes. Above it were two adits interconnected with stopes. A small tramway connected the adits to the camp at the river. The vein was fairly high grade, with streaks of solid chalcopyrite several inches wide. From all of this development, around 200 tons of high grade ore was shipped.

Deposit type: Polymetallic veins

Development: Veins are narro W and ore is spotty.

Geology: Region is composed of accreted terranes overprinted with cascades magmatism
