Ref.: Dana 6: 1061. A quarry in granite.
This locality is described in old literature as both a magnetite occurrence and a granite quarry, the latter probably exposed the magnetite. Noted by Dana (1890): "In a ledge crossing Crissy Hill there is much magnetite". Schairer (1931) says "...numerous pits and shafts on the northeast slope of the hill just northwest of Beckley Pond, Norfolk...", which is confusing because there is another Beckley Pond in SE Norfolk with another magnetite working, Pine Mountain, in a similar cardinal direction from the pond.

Dale and Gregory (1911) describe the Crissey Quarry as being found on the southeast side of Bald Mountain, opened before 1880 for coping for the Hoosac Tunnel in Massachusetts and consisted of 4 pits. The largest is about 150 feet long oriented SE-NW. It was closed in 1893 due to transportation problems. Coordinates are for the middle of the complex.

Mostly likely the granite quarry mentioned briefly in Dana's 6th edition of his System of Mineralogy, page 1061.
