The Guye mine was a small iron bearing skarn near Snoqualmie Pass. It is one of the earlier metal mines in the state. It is in a skarn zone similar to that of Denny Creek, but lacking the spectacular crystal pockets. In addition to magnetite, some sulfides occured. Development consisted of several short adits and open cuts. Little was produced though due to metallurgical issues with the ore and low tonnages discouraging much expensive development work.
Tectonics: The Snoqualmie Batholith Complex Is Part Of Early Magmatism Of The Cascade Magmatic Arc. Mineralization Probably Occured During Emplacement Of A Later Phase Of The Batholith.

Deposit: At the guye mine, limestone and conglomerate of the guye sedimentary member of the naches formation (frizzell and others, 1984, geol. Map) was intruded by granodiorite of the snoqualmie batholith (shedd and others, 1922, p. 90-92). ; info.src : 1 pub lit

Development: Econ.com: deposit has been extensively explored (huntting, 1956, p. 196).

Ore(s): Where Granodiorite Is In Contact With Limestone, The Limestone Is Recrystallized To Marble And Partially Replaced By Garnet And Magnetite (Shedd And Others, 1922, P. 90-92). A Vein Near The Center Of One Of The Claims, Reported To Be 6 Feet Wide, Contains Abundant Galena And Sphalerite (Huntting ,1956, P. 196).
