This deposit is located 3km SSE of Greta South.
"The observed workings extend for a distance of less than 1 km and consist of rough trenches, shafts and short cuts in grey to black slate. These deposits occur on the side of a ridge a short distance west of north from a knoll known as 'the Sugarloaf'. Exactly how many turquoise deposits occurred here are not known, but at least five workings can be located over a distance of little more than 500 metres. The two most northerly of these workings are the most extensive, with one still showing the remains of an old ore truck and rail system. Turquoise may still be found on some of the dumps."

Description: "Veins up to 5 mm thick of pale blue to bluish green turquoise may be planar or follow irregular fold surfaces in slate. It also occurs as patches in brecciated slate. While generally compact and chalky in appearance, it also occurs as globules lining cavities in small quartz veinlets through black slate."
Variscite
Formula: AlPO4 · 2H2O
Description: "Pale greyish green variscite forms clay-like patches up to 1 cm across in quartz-lined fractures in weathered slate. It also occurs in compact veinlets up to 3 mm thick, sometimes contorted, in which it may have replaced turquoise. Greyish white aggregates of platy crystals, possibly after turquoise have also been observed. The variscite is often associated with yellowish brown crusts of natrojarosite."
Wavellite
Formula: Al3(PO4)2(OH)3 · 5H2O
Description: "Wavellite forms hemispherical clusters, 1 to 2 mm across, of fibrous white crystals on quartz crystals lining veins in brecciated slate. Hyalite may coat the wavellite."
