Medium-scale hydrothermal-sedimentary fluorite deposit, consisting of fluorite, or fluorite and quartz, making up banded-laminated, massive and brecciated ores. The orebodies show disconformable relation to their host rocks of carbonaceous slate, limestone, rhyolitic crystallinoclastic tuff, rhyolite and dacite. The host rocks are locally contact metamorphosed. Ores partly exhibit sedimentary features.
Located 8 km east of the Sumt Qagan Obo fluorite deposit.
Note: "Obot" is the Mongolian name of the locality, while "Aobaotu" is the transliteration of its Chinese name. All other spelling variants are mis-nomers.
