A lead and silver mine which worked on two lodes, a NS-trending lode (probably the northern extension of the lode worked by Polzeath Consols) and a NE-trending lode which crops out in Pengirt Cove, northwest of Pentireglaze farm. The NS-trending lode was worked from two shafts on the south side of the small valley that joins the beach at Pentireglaze Haven. An overgrown dump of the more northerly shaft remains at the northeastern edge of New Polzeath village. The NE-trending lode was opened up from Engine Shaft, immediately west of Pentireglaze farm, and from an adit at the base of the cliff. The grid reference marks the large dump at Engine Shaft. The engine house ruin that stood there was demolished around 1957.
Between 1850 and 1875, the mine produced 955 tons of 67% lead ore and 19,065 ounces of silver.
