Quarry located on the northeastern slopes of Groppo di Gorro, on the right side of the Taro river (Taro valley; Val Taro in Italian), in a large outcrop (stretching over 7 km and having a thickness of 150–200 m) of serpentinized peridotites with rodingites. The size of the rodingite bodies is generally 30–60 cm, rarely up to ~1 m. The rodingite blocks contain relics of spinel-bearing, coarse-grained pyroxenites with large pyroxene porphyroclasts.
