Ancient lead mine (abandoned in 1923) working on lead and zinc bearing quartz-vein hosted by Devonian basement. Old dumps are located close to Aremberg on the western and southern slopes of Aremberg Mountain 9,5 km NW of Adenau.
The Aremberg Mountain is an ancient tertiary volcano consisting of alkali basalt lavas (Ankaramite).
Note: It is uncertain if the "Bergsegen I" and "Bergsegen II" mines mentioned in Habel (2014) are identical or not.
Note: There exists only the mine "Bergsegen I". The location "Bergsegen II" in Habel is the dump of the lower Aremberg-adit ("Unterer Aremberger Stollen") of the mine "Bergsegen I".
