A former old gold mine located 8 km NW of Manna Hill. Several trenches and workings can still be seen in the field.
As per the South Australia Geodata Database - Mineral Deposit Details, the Homeward Bound Mine or group of deposits was also known as, or included, Klondyke, Clayton Evan, Dunns, Waterhouse claim, Roberts, Spanish American, and Jones.
According to the SA Geodata the Homeward Bound workings extended "over a distance of 800m along an E-W auriferous, quartz-calcite-siderite-chlorite lode, variable width 5-80 cm thick, averaging 40 cm, with a 25-45 S dip".
