A lead mine started in 1897 or 1898 and closed in 1904. Owned by Ontario Mining and Smelting Co.
1898: 20 tons of hand-cobbed ore were produced from the open cuts by L. Meyer and R.C. Van der Meulen.
1903-1906, 1916: Four shafts sunk to 90 feet (#1), 132 ft (#2 SE), 65 ft. (#2 NW), and 40 ft (#3 NW). The no. 1 shaft was the main shaft with drifts at 181 feet east and 159 feet west from the bottom of the shaft. Part of the vein between #2 SE and #2 SW was stoped out to the surface. 2,653,365 lbs. of lead were produced by the Ontario Mining and Smelting Co.
1956: 18 diamond drill holes totalling 3,810 feet were drilled by Teck Expl. Co. Ltd.
1966: Soil geochemical and ground magnetometer surveys south of the mine site completed by Pennaroya Canada Ltd.
1980: Geological mapping of the mine property by Can prospect.
March 1999: The complete site was rehabilitated. All of the shafts and trenches were filled in by either blasting or backfilling.
