This site is now an abandoned quarry located in A'Beckett Rd, Narre Warren North, SE Melbourne.
"Located at the top of the lower bench in the central portion of the quarry, about 7 metres above the base, is an exposure of a thin sedimentary inlier consisting primarily of a coarse, generally unconsolidated, siliceous sand, rich in organic matter and charcoal fragments. The entire layer is less than 1 metre thick and can be traced for about 30 metres along the bench face. The existence of this sedimentary horizon within the basalt is evidence for at least two flows. Associated with the sand lens is a small patch of cavernous, grey, clay-breccia , veined and cemented by pyrite. Drusy chabazite occurs in some of the cavities and is also intergrown with the matrix clay mineral. Cavities in the basalt in the region of the sand lens, but particularly above it, in the basal levels of the overlying flow, contain hemispheres of a brownish carbonate mineral, usually associated with a dark brown clay encrusting the cavity walls."
