A large area with numerous active and inactive marble quarries, Vila Viçosa is one of the vertices of the so-called “Marble Triangle” — Estremoz, Borba, and Vila Viçosa. This region contains the most important ornamental stone deposits in Portugal.
The coordinates were placed near Borba simply to indicate the area.
