Name:
Named in honor of Cyrill Pavlovich Florensky (Кири́лл Па́влович Флоре́нский) (27 December 1915, Sergiyev Posad, Russian Empire - 9 April 1982, Moscow, Russia), geochemist and planetologist, and one of the founders of the Laboratory of Comparative Planetology at the Vernadsky Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow. He was given many awards and the Florensky Crater on the Moon is also named after him.
