Type Occurrence of Andymcdonaldite
General Appearance of Type Material:
Thin (0.5 mm) fracture coatings, earthy crusts. Also non-earthy cryptocrystalline crusts.
Place of Conservation of Type Material:
Holotype material is deposited in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. (catalogue NMNH 177134). Parts of the holotype are also stored at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Los Angeles, California, USA (no. 67434), at Museums Victoria, Victoria, Australia (no. M54885), and at the W.M. Keck Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA (no. 2019.003.001). A cotype specimen is kept at the Natural History Museum, London, England (no. BM 2019,10).
Geological Setting of Type Material:
In Au-, Te-, and Bi-rich jasperoid and as partial matrix-fillings of brecciated jasperoid.
