About Högbomite SupergroupHide

The högbomite supergrop minerals are complex oxides, trigonal or hexagonal, that forms a polysomatic series composed of spinel T2M4O8 (S) and nolanite TM4O7(OH) (N) modules, where the sites T and M represent tetrahedrally and octahedrally coordinated cations (Armbruster, 2002; Hejny and Armbruster, 2002).
Five groups belonging to the högbomite supergroup have been recognized: Högbomite Group, Nigerite Group, Taaffeite Group, Velesite Group and Beltrandoite Group.
