Name:
Named after Emiliano Zapata (8 August 1879, Anenecuilco, Morelos, Mexico - 10 April 1919, Chinameca, Morelos, Mexico), peasant hero of the Mexican Revolution. He was the Mexican rebel leader who stated that "It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees." He was a former sharecropper who organised and led peasants during the battles of the Mexican Revolution.
