A series between Edenite Root Name Group and Pargasite Root Name Group
The amphiboles in many marbles show a variable composition between edenite root name amphiboles and pargasite root name amphiboles. The series varies along several exchange vectors, where the Tschermac substitution (MgSi <-> Alviiv
Na<->K in the A position
Mg<->Fe in the Z (C) position
(OH)<->F in the anion (Z) position
Quite often one or more of these substitutions are near the midpoint between the different species, and these substitutions give the potential for several different end-member species within narrow chemical boundaries.
