About GenthiteHide

Name:
Named in 1867 by James Dwight Dana in honor of Fredrick Augustus Genth [May 17, 1820 Wächtersbach, Hesse-Cassel - February 2, 1893 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA], professor of mineralogy at the University of Pennsylvania.
A mixture of pimelite and Ni-bearing serpentine-group minerals with a botryoidal to colloform habit (Faust, 1966).
Similar to garnierite and may equate to nickel-gymnite (Sudo and Anzai, 1942).
