Långban Mine, Långban Ore District, Filipstad, Värmland County, Sweden

Comments:There were at least 3 different finds of akrochordite made at Långban:
Origially found as aggregtes of minuite sub-parallel crystals in small ammount in druses lined with unusually stable pyrochroite crystals and barite crystals. It was found in the "Japan" workings of the Långban mines, at a depth of about 100 meters. The first find consisted of seven specimens (Flink, 1922)

The second type was of a handful of specimens with pale pink aggregates of Akrochordite to 2 mm with Eveite, Brandtite and an unknown Mn-arsenate. (Moore et al.,1989)

A small find was also made on the dumps at the mine in the early 1990s consisting of very small (less than 1 mm) single crystals in fractures. (Knut Eldjarn, 2009)
