A former lode Au-Pb-Fe-Zn mine located in sec. 26, T3N, R15E, MDM, 3.1 km (1.9 miles) NNW of Cedar Ridge (coordinates of record), along the N side of the South Fork Stanislaus River, along Grant Ridge, on National Forest land. The claim is 40 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit, with a vein averaging 2 feet in thickness, hosted in slate. The ore body is tabular, strikes N78E and dips 70SE, with ore shoots. The ore is heavy sulfide containing free Au. The quartz carries as high as 5% sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 600 foot drift adit, a 100 foot deep winze situated 260 feet from the adit portal, plus a 100 foot crosscut N to parallel the vein, with a 150 foot drift E and 150 feet W.
