A former lode Au-Pb mine located in sec. 9, T1N, R16E, MDM, 1.7 km (5,600 feet) SW of Standard, about ½ mile SE of Tuolumne and about 3 miles S of Soulsbyville, along Curtis Creek (on ridge W of North Fork Tuolumne River). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit with a vein averaging 3 feet in thickness, hosted in slate-mica schist-quartzite rocks. The ore body strikes N35E and dips 60SE. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an inclined shaft 336 feet deep with levels at 85, 151 & 318 feet.
