A former Cu-Au-Ag mine located in sec. 30-32, T2S, R14E, MDM, 3.9 km (2.4 miles) WNW of Buzzard Point (cape & summit) and about 4 miles SE of Cooperstown (Stanislaus County), along Johnson Creek, on private land. Operated in 1901 & 1908. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in porphyry and is associated with a quartz dike on the eastern wall, 30-40 feet wide, which crops out on the surface and is traced for over 350 feet. The ore body strikes NW and dips SE at a thickness of 1.83 meters. Two ore shoots, one close to the eastern wall, the other near the western boundary. Gangue rock consists of clay shale, generally showing a foliated structure, also forming homogenous masses without and regular cleavage. Oxides carrying a fair amount of Au was found from the surface to a depth of 100 feet. Below this chalcocite and pyrite are encountered. At about 300 feet, chalcopyrite is reached. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings with a length of 792.48 meters and an overall depth of 106.68 meters. There is 1 principal shaft with 3 levels.

Production information: No production recorded. Ore shipped during the frist period varied: (Au, 0.22, 0.71 and 0.62 ounces/ton; Ag, 2.38, 7.11 and 6.16 ounces/ton; Cu, 4.9, 10.5 and 20.9%).
