A former lode Au mine located in sec. 8 and in the SW¼ sec. 9, T1S, R15E, MDM, 3.4 km (2.1 miles) SSE of Hog Mountain (coordinates of record) (S of Shawmut Mine and about 1½ miles above the Steven Bridge claim), along the Tuolumne River. There are 4 claims. The claims are approximately 59 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. This mine had been a small producer of high-grade ore for aseveral years.
The ore body strikes NW and dips E. The ore is rich in free gold. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 adits at 500 and 1,700 feet, respectively. A winze is on the vein off of the 1,700 foot adit.
